Frame for the Fall

with hands joined to cast

Photo by JF Martin on Unsplash

We deny consent for towers erected
to repeal phases of pandemic
declared a hoax with unmasked airs
walled within a promise too big and beautiful
for children caged between countries
or octogenarians drowning on ventilators.

Our backs are arched,
faces uplifted to November
with hands joined to cast
a shared vote in a grab
from the inseams of pantsuits
to impale the seal of a president.

We are the frame of impact
for the target of the fall of lies
coiled without tears shuddering
from heights over windows
barred to souls of bunkers
squared and cornered for the lookouts of men.

Contemporary poet. Dysautonomia may ravage my mind and body, but no illness can mute my ear for words. Imagery is my Kung Fu. Thank you for reading! #SheWrote
